Potential Hepatitis A Exposure at Gwinnett Restaurant – WSB-TV Channel 2 Reports

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — An alert was issued by the Gwinnett County Health Department on Wednesday regarding a restaurant worker who was diagnosed with Hepatitis A.

The afflicted server was employed at Lolita’s Bar and Grill located off Buford Drive in Lawrenceville.

Hepatitis A is a highly contagious liver infection that can lead to fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, and jaundice. The health department indicated that individuals who dined or drank at the restaurant between Oct. 24 and Nov. 7 may have been exposed to the infection.

Health officials advise patrons from those dates to consult their doctors to determine if they require a Hepatitis A vaccine, practice frequent handwashing, and monitor for any symptoms of Hepatitis A.

According to the department, symptoms can manifest between two to 7 weeks after exposure and persist for two to six months.
