Nikki Haley, a Republican presidential candidate, is targeting Vivek Ramaswamy, who has gained significant popularity in the polls and is therefore an easy target for criticism. However, I predict that Ramaswamy will handle the attack well. Why? Because he possesses exceptional intelligence and speaks in a way that resonates with common sense. This country is in desperate need of a healthy dose of common sense!
Haley criticizes Ramaswamy for his pledge to cut off aid to Israel in 2028, accusing him of abandoning America’s special alliance with Israel. However, in an interview, Ramaswamy clarified that he would only do so if his efforts to negotiate peace between Israel and other Middle Eastern nations are successful. If he fails in his mission, he would continue to support Israel’s defense. This approach is based on common sense.
Ramaswamy, a political newcomer who was relatively unknown just six months ago, often makes controversial statements (such as his proposal to defund the FBI), but many Americans share his views. As he recently stated in an interview with Fox Business’ Neil Cavuto, he would rather lose the race and speak the truth at every step than win by conforming to expectations.

An Emerson poll shows Ramaswamy tied for second place with Ron DeSantis, both at 10 percent of the vote. Just five months ago, Ramaswamy didn’t even register on the Real Clear Politics average of polls. However, he still has a long way to go to catch up to the frontrunner, Donald Trump, who has 56 percent of the vote in that poll.
A few months ago, when asked about his path to securing the nomination, Ramaswamy emphasized the importance of winning in Iowa and New Hampshire. Unfortunately, he is currently trailing far behind in both states.
Despite these challenges, Ramaswamy possesses an authenticity that money cannot buy, much like Bernie Sanders and other unexpected political stars. Furthermore, he has no political baggage and owes no one, as he has primarily financed his own campaign.
In a recent statement, Ramaswamy outlined ten bold “truths” that he believes in:
“1. God is real. 2. There are two genders. 3. Human flourishing requires fossil fuels. 4. Reverse racism is racism. 5. An open border is no border. 6. Parents determine the education of their children. 7. The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind. 8. Capitalism lifts people up from poverty. 9. There are three branches of the U.S. government, not four. 10. The U.S. Constitution is the strongest guarantor of freedoms in history.”
These opinions are disliked by liberals because they challenge progressive double-think, which is harmful to our country. These are the same people who believe that releasing criminals will reduce crime or that an open border, allowing dangerous drugs to flood our nation, is somehow “humanitarian.”
If Ramaswamy were to become the GOP standard-bearer, would his Democratic opponents be willing to debate these ten points? Could Gretchen Whitmer convincingly argue that socialism has lifted more people out of poverty than capitalism? Can Gavin Newsome pretend that any other system of government surpasses our own in protecting minority rights?
Could Joe Biden persuade an audience that Ramaswamy is mistaken about the preeminent role of parents in their children’s education or the importance of the nuclear family? Don’t hold your breath; Biden’s handlers would never allow him to appear on the same stage as Vivek.
So who exactly is Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy? He was born in Cincinnati to first-generation Indian immigrants. According to Ramaswamy, his upbringing was privileged due to his parents’ focus on education, achievement, and values. His father is an engineer and patent lawyer, and his mother is a geriatric psychiatrist.
Ramaswamy was the valedictorian of his high school class, a nationally-ranked junior tennis player, and a skilled pianist. This information can be found on his entry for the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, a program established by the late brother of George Soros and his wife Daisy. The program aims to support high-achieving young immigrants and children of immigrants by providing funds for graduate school.
Vivek majored in biology at Harvard College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 2007. He later obtained a law degree from Yale University.
During his undergraduate years, Ramaswamy served as the chairman of Harvard’s Political Union and was one of three students chosen to assist in selecting the current president of Harvard. As a senior, he co-founded StudentBusinesses.com, a tech company that connected entrepreneurs with professional resources online. The company was eventually acquired in 2009.

In 2014, Ramaswamy founded Roivant Sciences, a biotech company dedicated to guiding new pharmaceuticals through the regulatory and approval process until they are ready for commercialization. As a result of the successful launch of several drugs and the implementation of a shareholder protection structure, Ramaswamy earned hundreds of millions of dollars. It is this windfall that is funding his presidential campaign.
Ramaswamy aims to shake up the established political order. Judging by the negative articles published by the New York Times and other usual critics, he is making some progress. However, his secret weapon may be his genial and composed nature. When faced with aggressive questioning from a self-described “pansexual” at the Iowa State Fair, Ramaswamy delivered an impressive critique of what he calls the “tyranny of the minority.” Throughout the conversation, he celebrated the fact that they could engage in a civil discussion due to the protections offered by this great country. They even shook hands at the end.
The path to securing the nomination is long and filled with obstacles, especially for a first-time candidate. Tomorrow’s debate will be just one of many tests for all contenders. Vivek has the potential to become a formidable force in the race, and the stakes could not be higher.
