Possible kidnapping reported in Whittier leaves woman missing – Orange County Register

Authorities are currently on the lookout for a missing 19-year-old woman following an incident involving gunfire and a possible abduction that occurred in Penn Park, Whittier, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to a statement from the Whittier Police Department, a man informed the officers that he and the woman, identified as Andrea Vazquez, were approached by an “armed suspect” while they were parked in the parking stalls area of the park, located at 13950 Penn Street, shortly after midnight.

The man reported that the “armed suspect” came towards their vehicle and discharged a firearm in their direction, causing him to flee. Upon his return, he discovered blood near his vehicle and realized that Vazquez was missing.

Vazquez, a Hispanic female, is approximately 5-foot-3 and weighs 103 pounds. She has brownish red hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve crop top, khaki pants, and black low-top Converse shoes. Additionally, she has a tattoo of the word “Edlyn” on the back of her neck and the Aries constellation on the top of her right hand, as well as a belly button piercing.

No description of the “armed suspect” has been provided by the police at this time.

Investigators are urging anyone who visited the park between 11 p.m. on Saturday night and 1 a.m. on Sunday morning to come forward with any relevant information about the incident or Vazquez’s whereabouts.
