On Saturday, the pontiff personally contacted the Holy Family Church, maintaining regular communication to stay updated on the situation.
“A few minutes ago, the Pope called me. He expressed his support and offered his prayers,” said Father Gabriel Romanelli, who is currently in Bethlehem, in an interview with the Vatican’s news agency.

Father Romanelli, who remains in frequent contact with the community, revealed that Pope Francis “wished to demonstrate his support and will directly call the community with the assistance of my vicar to aid those seeking refuge in our parish.”
