At three checkpoints from Poland into Ukraine, over 2,500 trucks are currently delayed due to a blockade by the striking Polish truckers, as confirmed by Ukrainian State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko on national television on Nov. 12.
“Traffic is severely disrupted in three main directions to and from Ukraine, with only the Krakovets-Korchova checkpoint showing relatively more movement for cars leaving Ukraine for Poland,” Demchenko stated.

The line of trucks waiting to cross the border continues to grow, with more than 50% of the trucks at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint, and the rest divided between the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne and Krakovets-Korchova checkpoints.

Demchenko expressed hope that the blockades will soon be lifted, with efforts to resolve the situation taking place when the Ukrainian Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development meets with Polish authorities and truckers on Nov. 13.
Polish truckers have been on strike since Nov. 6 at three border crossings with Ukraine: Korczowa-Krakówiec, Hrebenne-Rava-Ruska, and Dorohusk-Yagodin.
These strikes, scheduled until Jan. 3, are driven by several demands, including the return of permits to Ukrainian carriers, reinforcing international transport rules for foreign carriers under the CEMT, restricting company registrations in Poland to those with finances in the EU, implementing separate queues for EU-numbered cars and empty trucks, and access to the ‘Shliakh’ system.
It was revealed that Polish truckers participating in the strikes had previously worked in Russia and Belarus.
