Saugus police are currently investigating a disturbing and unacceptable brawl that took place inside the busy Kowloon Restaurant on Thanksgiving Eve, as announced by officials on Friday.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, police were called to respond to a fight occurring at the Kowloon on Route 1, according to the Saugus Police Department.
Six officers, who were already on site as part of a detail, were able to defuse the situation, the police said.
Several young men involved in the altercation were detained and questioned by officers, and received medical attention.
The restaurant and bar had to close early due to the disturbance.
No arrests were made at the time, but an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police have noted that charges may be filed later, as one individual allegedly used a glass bottle in the fight, which is a felony offense.
“The Kowloon is a family-friendly restaurant, unfortunately, a few unruly patrons ruined a nice evening for many others. A disturbance such as this on Thanksgiving Eve is unacceptable and disgusting,” said Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli.
Police are still talking to witnesses, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
