In Budapest, Hungary, at the ongoing 2023 World Athletics Championships, Robyn Lauren Brown, the Asian champion in the women’s 400m hurdles, finished seventh in her race, resulting in an early exit from the competition. Despite clocking a faster time of 56.83 seconds compared to her performance in Bangkok last month, it was not enough to advance to the semifinals.

Jamaica’s Janieve Russel topped the second heat with a time of 54.53 seconds, followed by American Anna Cockrell (54.68) and Panama’s Gianna Woodruff (55.31). Canada’s Savannah Sutherland secured fourth place with a time of 55.85 and advanced to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Eric Cray, the former Asian champion in the men’s 400m hurdles, also faced an early exit after finishing seventh in his preliminary heat.
