Penn State Professor Themis Matsoukas Accused of Engaging in Sexual Activity with His Collie

A chemical engineering professor at Penn State University has been accused of engaging in sexual acts with his dog, which were captured by trail cameras. Themis Matsoukas, 64, has been charged with open lewdness, indecent exposure, sexual intercourse with an animal, cruelty to animals, and disorderly conduct. According to the Centre Daily Times, Matsoukas has been placed on leave by the university, where he has worked since 1991.

Rangers were able to identify Matsoukas through a North Face backpack and a Subaru Outback seen in the footage from Rothrock State Forest, as reported by WTAJ. Authorities confirmed that the collie featured in the April and May clips was the same dog found at Matsoukas’ home. The investigators also discovered the backpack and an iPad seen in the trail camera images.

During a search warrant on June 9, Matsoukas allegedly told rangers from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, “I’m done, I’m dead. You don’t understand, I do it to blow off steam.” He reportedly begged the rangers to shoot him, as stated in the charging documents cited by Fox 43.

Interestingly, the cameras that captured Matsoukas’ actions were initially set up to catch individuals stealing hand sanitizer at the state park, according to StateCollege.com. The university has issued a statement stating that Matsoukas has been relieved of his responsibilities and is on leave.

At the time of writing, there has been no response from Matsoukas or his lawyer regarding the allegations, as reported by the Centre Daily Times.
