Pence urges Biden to halt nuclear negotiations with Iran

Former Vice President Mike Pence strongly urged the Biden administration to halt negotiations with Tehran regarding Iran’s nuclear program during his speech at the Free Iran World Summit 2023 in Paris. Pence criticized President Biden for appeasing the “tyrannical regime” in Iran and called on leaders of freedom-loving nations to stand with the Iranian people and cease all nuclear negotiations immediately. While the Biden administration continues to pursue diplomatic discussions with Iran to prevent the country from obtaining nuclear weapons, critics like Pence argue that a deal would provide Iran with funds for proxy terrorist activities against regional rivals. Although the administration denies reports of an “interim” agreement, talks have allegedly taken place in Oman. Pence warned that the Biden administration’s policies, including waiving sanctions and engaging with Russia in talks with Iran, jeopardize the progress made in marginalizing the Iranian regime. He emphasized that a new nuclear deal would lead to more terrorism and instability, rather than peace and stability. Pence’s speech was hosted by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the event included other notable speakers like Maryam Rajavi, John Bolton, and Mike Pompeo. The NCRI has been a vocal opponent of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and has organized rallies critical of the Iranian regime in Paris. Pence, who is running for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, aims to challenge former President Donald Trump.
