Ozzy Osbourne Withdraws from Festival Due to Health Concerns: ‘I’m Not Quite Prepared Yet’ – National

Ozzy Osbourne will regrettably not be able to perform at the Power Trip music festival in California this October due to his ongoing health issues. This would have marked his first performance in nearly five years. In a statement, the Prince of Darkness explained that he had originally planned to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, but his body is not yet ready. He expressed that he does not want his first show in five years to be subpar. The festival organizers have yet to announce a replacement for Osbourne, but he mentioned that the band filling his slot will be made up of his personal friends.

Osbourne thanked his fans, band, and crew for their unwavering support and loyalty. He assured them that he will see them soon. The Power Trip festival already has notable rock and metal bands such as Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica lined up to perform.

It is important to note that Osbourne has been facing health challenges for several years, including his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 2020 and multiple surgeries for a spinal injury that limits his mobility.

Earlier this year, Osbourne had to cancel his European tour due to his physical limitations. The tour, titled No More Tours II, was scheduled to begin in Helsinki, Finland in May.

Osbourne and his wife, Sharon, relocated back to England from the U.S. last year due to Osbourne’s concerns about gun violence and high taxes. The famous Osbourne family, who gained widespread popularity with their reality TV show, “The Osbournes,” which was filmed in their Los Angeles home in the early 2000s, lived in the U.S. for over two decades.

In September 2022, Osbourne released his 13th solo album, “Patient Number 9,” which has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. The album’s lead single, also titled “Patient Number 9,” features the late Jeff Beck. Additionally, the song “Degradation Rules,” featuring Tony Iommi, has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance.

As the festival organizers work to find a replacement for Osbourne, fans and music enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the upcoming Power Trip festival.
