Optimistic Republican Congressman Reveals Hopeful Prayers for a Slim GOP House Majority in Upcoming 2022 Midterm Elections

In a recently obtained video by Fox News Digital, Republican congressman and member of the House Freedom Caucus, Rep. Matt Rosendale, admitted that he was hoping for a “small” majority for the GOP in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. Rosendale explained that a small majority was necessary to push the party further to the right and advance a conservative agenda. The video was recorded during a closed briefing for conservative donors.

“I was praying each evening for a small majority because I recognize that was the only way to advance a conservative agenda,” said Rosendale. He also praised Rep. Matt Gaetz and his efforts to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, indicating his support for Gaetz’s bid to change leadership.

In the video, Rosendale is seen sitting next to Gaetz and former Trump administration official Steve Bannon. He went on to express his frustration with a deal that avoided a government shutdown, which was the main motivation behind Gaetz’s attempt to remove McCarthy. Despite the deal being reached, Rosendale and other right-leaning Republicans were disappointed.

Rosendale is considering running against Montana Democratic Sen. Jon Tester in the upcoming election. He previously ran against Tester in 2018 and lost by a small margin. Other potential candidates for the Republican nomination include former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy and businessman Jeremy Mygland.
