At the University of Connecticut, Misti Levy Zamora, an assistant professor in public health sciences, and her colleagues distributed Corsi-Rosenthal purifiers for free. Zamora confirms the purifiers’ efficiency based on tests conducted in various locations, including public schools. Richard Corsi, the co-inventor of the method and the dean of the College of Engineering at UC Davis, believes social media played a significant role in popularizing the DIY air purifier.
