New Update: Authorities Consider Domestic Assault Charges Against Jonathan Majors’ Former Partner, Reveals Insider

On the eve of Marvel actor Jonathan Majors’ upcoming court hearing on assault charges filed by his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, an intriguing twist emerged. According to a senior law enforcement official familiar with the matter, prosecutors and police had contemplated charging Jabbari with domestic assault. However, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office unequivocally stated in court filings on Tuesday that any such discussions had ceased since September.

The court filing explicitly states, “On September 8, 2023, and September 12, 2023, the prosecution informed the NYPD that the People would decline to prosecute any charges brought by the NYPD against Ms. Jabbari related to the belated allegations made by defendant [Majors] regarding the incident on March 25, 2023.”

According to the filing, Jabbari’s attorney received notification from the Manhattan D.A.’s office on September 21st confirming that they would not pursue any charges against Jabbari issued by the NYPD.

This filing essentially guarantees that Jabbari will not face prosecution for any offense stemming from this case.

Initially, both the Manhattan district attorney’s office and the New York Police Department had been contemplating a case against Jabbari on charges of third-degree domestic assault, a misdemeanor, as reported by The Messenger.

However, details such as the timing of the charges and whether Jabbari would turn herself in to authorities remain unclear, as per the law enforcement official.

This revelation comes just hours before Majors’ scheduled court appearance, which is related to his previous arrest in March for allegedly assaulting Jabbari. Majors had been charged with misdemeanor assault at that time.

Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, has staunchly maintained her client’s innocence, asserting that Majors himself was the victim of assault.

According to a source, there are no expectations of Majors attending Wednesday’s hearing.

Neither Jabbari’s nor Majors’ attorneys were immediately available for comment.

At the time of Majors’ arrest, the police reported that Jabbari had suffered “minor injuries to her head and neck” and had been taken to a local hospital in stable condition following an altercation with Majors in a taxi. Jabbari and Majors had been in a long-term relationship prior to the incident.

In June, The New York Times reported that the NYPD possessed evidence for Jabbari’s arrest, which her attorney disputed in a statement at that time.

Majors, a California native and Yale graduate, experienced a rapid ascent in Hollywood before these allegations. He has appeared in prominent films such as “Creed III,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” and the critically acclaimed 2019 independent film “The Last Black Man in San Francisco.” Majors is also set to star in the upcoming Marvel film, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
