Toyota Rumion Launched in India: Innovative Features and Competitive Pricing

Toyota Kirloskar has recently launched the Toyota Rumion Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in the Indian market. This versatile car is available in both petrol (Neo Drive) and CNG fuel options. The starting price of the Rumion MPV is Rs 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom price) making it one of the most affordable 7-seaters in the market.

Variants

The Rumion MPV offers three variants, six trims, and five color options. Customers can choose the CNG variant as well. Bookings for the Rumion have already started, with a token amount of Rs 11,000 needed to secure a reservation. The delivery of the vehicle will begin on 8 September.

Features

The Rumion comes equipped with advanced features like smartphone and smartwatch connectivity. The car can be started or stopped using a smartphone, providing convenience to users. It offers a mileage of 20.52kmpl in the petrol variant and 26.11kmpl in the CNG variant. The Rumion is the fourth model developed by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki, following the success of the Toyota Glanza, Urban Cruiser, and Maruti Suzuki Invicto.

  • V MT (Petrol): Rs 12.18 Lakh (Ex-showroom)
  • V AT (Petrol): Rs 13.68 Lakh (Ex-showroom)

Design

The new Toyota Rumion features cosmetic changes, including a prominent front grille inspired by the Innova Crysta. The grille showcases a honeycomb pattern, surrounded by chrome. LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs) enhance the car’s appearance. The front bumper has been redesigned, incorporating a chrome element. The sides of the car feature 7-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels, adding a touch of elegance. The interior of the Rumion resembles the Ertiga, with dual-tone treatment and the new Toyota logo on the steering wheel.

Engine, Power, and Mileage

The Rumion is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 103hp power and 137Nm torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Additionally, a factory-fitted CNG kit is available, providing 88hp power and 121.5Nm torque in CNG mode. According to the company, the Rumion offers a mileage of 20.11 kmpl with manual transmission, 20.51 kmpl with automatic transmission, and 26.11 km/kg in CNG mode. The car features Neo Drive technology and E-CNG technology, enhancing its overall mileage and performance.

Delivery of the vehicles for customers who book the All New Toyota Rumion will commence from 8 September 2023.”
