While some parts of the country are renowned for their exceptional coffee beans, such as Seattle, Washington, the home of the first-ever Starbucks location opened in 1971, the best coffee cities in America might surprise you. WalletHub has released its 2023 list, and here are the top locations:

Surprisingly, San Francisco, California claims the top spot as the best coffee city in America, based on a WalletHub report. The company analyzed the 100 largest cities in the country using 12 key indicators of coffee lover-friendliness, including the number of coffee shops and cafés per capita and the average price per pack of coffee. The study also compared the cost of a cappuccino across the United States.
While cities like Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and New York made the list, there were also some unexpected choices such as Nashville, Columbus, and Toledo. WalletHub even identified the cities with the lowest and highest average prices for a cappuccino, with Laredo, Texas having the lowest and Long Beach, California having the highest.
