The 29th annual Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines festival is set to commence on July 3 at the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy. This event will not only showcase talented up-and-coming artists but also feature headliners from across the nation.
What sets this year’s festival apart is the unique opportunity for student musicians to perform alongside seasoned professionals. This initiative aims to create a bridge between the current jazz elite and the next generation of jazz artists. Pamela Jordan, president of the Idyllwild Arts Foundation, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration in fostering artistic growth.
The festival will include a Student Clinic, where aspiring musicians can attend master classes and open rehearsals. This learning experience will be interspersed with captivating performances by renowned musicians.
Jazz In The Pines has successfully aligned with the core values of Idyllwild Arts, which has been celebrating artistic expression for over 75 years. By creating a platform for intergenerational collaboration, younger artists are learning to embrace the universal language of the arts as a means to impact lives and connect with humanity.
This year’s lineup includes stellar performances by the Euphoria Brass Band, the Marshall Hawkins Trio, the Tom Hynes Duo, the Idyllwild Arts Faculty Jazz Jam, the Yve Evans Quartet, and the Margaret A. Cargill Commons. These incredible acts will take the stage at various venues, such as the Holmes Amphitheater, French Quarter, Stephens Hall, Lowman Concert Hall, and Old Town Temecula Community Theater.
In addition to the sensational musical performances, the festival will also feature engaging panel discussions, artist meet-and-greets, and special alumni events. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards scholarships for aspiring musicians.
Ticket prices range from $25 to $500, depending on the desired dates and number of shows festival-goers wish to attend. For more information, please visit idyllwildarts.org.
