More Campaign Staffers Being Ditched by DeSantis

Ron DeSantis’ campaign has made further staff cuts, reducing its size by over a third since launching two months ago. According to Politico, a total of 38 staffers have been let go, including cuts that were previously announced. A campaign adviser told NBC News that the cuts were made across all departments, acknowledging that the campaign had been excessively staffed. The campaign is now planning a reboot and has emphasized a “leaner, meaner” approach at a recent donors’ retreat in Utah, as reported by CNN.

“Following a comprehensive review of our organization, we have taken aggressive steps to streamline operations and position Ron DeSantis for success in the primary and against Joe Biden,” said Generra Peck, DeSantis’ campaign manager. She added that DeSantis is ready to lead the Great American Comeback and they are prepared for an important month ahead in the campaign. During the donor retreat, Peck admitted that the campaign had overspent in certain areas. Advisers mentioned upcoming changes such as smaller events and reduced travel costs. (It is worth noting that DeSantis was involved in a car accident, but thankfully, he was not injured.)
