In an interview with USA Today, Kolle further expressed, “I struggled and it was a very rough time. Today, I am stronger than ever before. It’s never too late and help is always there. That has always been my guiding principle, and I want to help and spread it with my own story and experience.” Kolle follows in the footsteps of former Miss Spain Angela Ponce, who previously competed in 2018. Since 2012, the Miss Universe pageant has welcomed transgender women. Notably, the pageant is now owned by Anne Jakrajutatip, a trans woman. Additionally, there are efforts in the United States to elect the first transgender representative to the House of Representatives, with a Delaware state senator seeking this historic appointment.
