The talented actor and founder of Florence by Mills, Millie Bobby Brown, spoke with Women’s Wear Daily about her brand’s debut fragrance, “Wildly Me,” her upcoming wedding to Jake Bongiovi, and the approaching conclusion of Netflix’s popular show, “Stranger Things.”
Brown, who is 19 years old, revealed in the interview that although she doesn’t personally check social media, she appreciates seeing how people use her products through the lenses of her “wonderful team.” They curate her social media experience to shield her from negativity while still allowing her to view positive posts.
Regarding her decision to distance herself from social media, Brown expressed, “I personally feel it wasn’t adding anything to my life. And I felt positive when I didn’t have it on my phone. I just felt like I could live my life with more confidence and freedom, mental freedom. I just feel better for it.”
Brown has previously shared her experiences with online harassment and bullying and even sought therapy as a result. In a 2022 Allure profile, she conveyed the challenges of being targeted when she was unsure of her own identity, saying, “It’s really hard to be hated on when you don’t know who you are yet. So it’s like, ‘What do they hate about me? ‘Cause I don’t know who I am.'”

Now, as “Stranger Things” nears its conclusion, which brought her widespread acclaim, Brown prefers to maintain privacy in many aspects of her life. This also applies to her upcoming wedding to Bongiovi.
“I feel it’s important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest,” Brown shared with WWD.
