Mike Pence Reveals Undecided Stance on COVID Booster: Here’s What You Need to Know

Former Vice President Mike Pence revealed uncertainty regarding his decision to receive the newly authorized COVID-19 booster vaccine during a recent CNN interview. However, he emphasized the importance of families considering the option.

When asked about his own vaccination plans, Pence responded, “We haven’t made a decision on that yet as a family. I think every family ought to make those decisions.”

Following the FDA’s approval of an additional COVID-19 booster shot to combat emerging virus strains, concerns have escalated regarding a potential winter wave of illness.

Pence took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the Trump administration, while also criticizing President Biden’s approach to the pandemic.

Pence stated, “Let’s be very clear, I’m incredibly proud of what the American people accomplished during the worst pandemic in a hundred years, and the fact that American innovation developed not only therapeutics but free, safe, and effective vaccines was a medical miracle.”

However, he expressed disagreement with Biden’s vaccine mandates, believing they have politicized the issue.

During the height of the pandemic, the Biden administration implemented mandates requiring large employers to vaccinate their workers or conduct regular COVID-19 testing. Additionally, vaccines or masks were required on federally regulated transportation, and COVID testing became mandatory for international visitors.

Each of these mandates encountered legal challenges.

Pfizer and Moderna have both released updated boosters in response to the new variants of the virus.

The Food and Drug Administration has recommended that everyone aged 6 months and older receive the new booster shot. These vaccines are expected to become available at national pharmacies this week.

A recent poll indicated that approximately half of Americans are interested in receiving the booster shot.
