Michigan’s Zak Zinter Suffers Broken Tibia and Fibula in Standout Performance Against Ohio State

Michigan’s Zak Zinter, a standout offensive guard, sustained a broken tibia and fibula during the Wolverine’s 30-24 win over Ohio State on Saturday. His mother, Tiffany, announced on Instagram that Zak was set to undergo surgery on Saturday night.

In an Instagram story, Tiffany Zinter expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support. She also mentioned the bright side that Zak still boasts a 3-0 record against OSU, acknowledging the team’s camaraderie and brotherhood.

Following successful surgery and post on social media, Zak thanked his teammates for their support and for finishing strong against the Buckeyes.

Zinter’s injury occurred when his left leg was rolled on during a play. Recurrence of the injury was severe enough that it was not shown during the broadcast.

Zinter’s injury proved to give Michigan a boost. On the next play following his injury, a touchdown was scored, lifting the spirits of the team and fans.

Interim coach Sherrone Moore acknowledged the emotional hardship of the injury. The team faces challenges ahead without their decorated offensive lineman, but they remain hopeful for his recovery.

Michigan will chart new territory in the absence of Zinter and look to maintain their undefeated season in the Big Ten Football Championship Game against Iowa. The team’s resilience will be tested as they aim to claim the coveted title.
