Chris Christie visits Israeli communities devastated by Hamas attacks

WASHINGTON – Chris Christie, the Republican presidential candidate and former New Jersey Governor, forecasts that the American public will ignore Donald Trump should he lose the GOP presidential nomination in 2024 en masse.
“I think the public overall will begin to ignore a four-time loser like Donald Trump,” Christie stated during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
Trump has maintained a strong lead in state-level and national polls as the primary frontrunner in the 2024 GOP presidential primary race, surpassing Christie and other rivals. Christie is placing his hopes on winning in New Hampshire, a crucial early voting state, to secure the nomination.
If Trump were to lose the nomination, Christie expressed doubt that the former president would concede. However, he dismissed the scenario, stating that he wouldn’t “care” if Trump fails to concede. Christie highlighted that Trump still falsely claims victory in the 2020 presidential election.
“Look, no one will expect him to concede. He hasn’t conceded the 2020 election, who cares?” Christie remarked. “I don’t suspect he’ll ever concede.”
Christie described that if Trump were to lose the Republican nomination, it would mark his fourth defeat, and he attributes the GOP’s string of lackluster election results to the former president.
“He lost in 2018 in the House, he lost in 2020 in the Senate and in the White House. And in 2022, he led us to more losses in the governorships and the Senate, and if he loses in 2024 he will be a four-time loser,” Christie emphasized.
“I think he’ll go back to Mar-a-Lago. He’ll continue to carp and moan and complain and say we don’t deserve him. Anything that gets him out of this race and what keeps him out of the White House is fine by me,” he added.
Despite being one of Trump’s most vocal critics, Christie still lags far behind the former president. According to a Real Clear Politics average of polls on the Republican field, Christie trails not only Trump but also Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
