The release of sixty-nine hostages was announced in Gaza after they had been held captive for seven weeks following the attacks on Israel on 7 October. Three-year-old Eitan Yahalomi, and his father Ohad, who sustained injuries defending their family home, was also among the freed hostages.
Also released were Emily Hand, Hila Rotem Shoshani, Avigail Idan, and Hagar and her children Oria, Yuval, and Offri. Additionally, Ohad Munder-Zichri, his mother Keren Munder, and his grandmother Ruthi Munder were among the hostages that were freed. However, more hostages have still yet to be released, including Chen Almog-Goldstein, her children Tal, Gal, and Agam, Hanna Katzir, Channah Peri, Dr. Shoshan Haran, Sharon Avigdori, Noam, Yafa Adar, Shiri Weiss, Noga, Adrienne Aviva Seigel, and Keith.
