Media bias once again exposed in the vindication of transgender whistleblower

After months of rampant gaslighting, the national media is now retracting their previous criticisms and vindicating Jamie Reed, the whistleblower who courageously exposed the negligent and rushed treatment of children suffering from gender dysphoria. Unfortunately, this redemption comes too late.

Jamie Reed, a self-described gay woman married to a transgender man, worked for almost four years at a gender dysphoria clinic at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The national media heavily criticized Reed when she bravely came forward in February with her Free Press essay revealing the mistreatment and mishandling of children with gender dysphoria, including instances where children regretted undergoing surgeries or hormone injections.

Reed recounted the story of a child with schizophrenia who stopped taking their medication while receiving hormonal injections, a dangerously risky decision according to medical professionals.

She also reported a case where a 17-year-old girl experienced a tearing of her birth canal during sex, unaware that taking testosterone (as part of her transition from female to male) would cause extensive bleeding.

Despite Reed’s horrifying revelations, which were taken seriously by lawmakers in Missouri and resulted in necessary legislative changes, the national media turned a blind eye.

MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes published a lengthy Twitter thread, now deleted, attacking Reed and claiming that “multiple other outlets have conducted numerous interviews with parents, employees, and patients and found no evidence to support her claims.”

New York magazine published an article in early March that criticized Reed’s claims and highlighted negative articles from the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the Missouri Independent.
