Madonna, the iconic singer, has been hospitalized due to a severe bacterial infection, leading to her stay in the intensive care unit. As a result, her upcoming tour will be postponed.
Confirming the news on Instagram, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, stated that she spent several days in the ICU but is now on the path to recovery.
Oseary mentioned that Madonna was admitted to the hospital on Saturday and her health is slowly improving. Although reports suggest that she has been discharged from the ICU, Oseary clarified that she is still under medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.
However, due to her current health condition, all of Madonna’s commitments, including the tour, will be put on hold. More details regarding the tour’s rescheduling and new start date will be shared soon.
Prior to her hospitalization, Madonna was preparing for The Celebration Tour, originally scheduled to kick off in Vancouver, B.C., on July 15. This tour was planned to commemorate the 40th anniversary of her breakthrough single, “Holiday”.
Ticketmaster/Live Nation has informed Global News that once the new dates for the postponed shows are announced, or if no new dates are provided within 60 days, fans will be eligible for a refund.
In 2020, Madonna underwent hip replacement surgery, nearly a year after sustaining an injury during her Madame X tour.
