LOS ANGELES — Madonna has delayed her highly anticipated Celebration tour due to a severe bacterial infection, according to her manager Guy Oseary.

Oseary revealed on Instagram that the 64-year-old singer was hospitalized and spent several days in an intensive care unit after falling ill on Saturday. However, he assured fans that Madonna is expected to make a full recovery.

The Celebration tour was originally scheduled to start in Vancouver on July 15. Live Nation, the tour’s promoter, confirmed the postponement.

“While her health is improving, Madonna is still under medical care,” Oseary wrote in the Instagram post.

The Celebration tour was set to visit cities such as Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta, and Boston. The first leg of the tour was supposed to end on October 7 in Las Vegas. Oseary stated that details about rescheduled dates will be announced soon.
