Lizzo Faces Accusations of Sexual Harassment and Racial Discrimination from Former Dancers

A trio of former dancers who worked for the renowned musician, Lizzo, have filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her. They claim they were subjected to a highly toxic work atmosphere, filled with racial taunts and inappropriate behavior. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, names Lizzo’s company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, and the dance team captain, Shirlene Quigley, as defendants. The dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, also accuse Lizzo of disability discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment.

“The shocking way in which Lizzo and her management mistreated their performers goes against everything Lizzo publicly stands for. Behind closed doors, she body-shames her dancers and belittles them in ways that are not only illegal but incredibly demoralizing,” stated Ron Zambrano, the dancers’ lawyer.

The media representatives for Lizzo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Davis, Williams, and Rodriguez, all of whom are people of color, joined Lizzo’s dance team in 2021. The lawsuit alleges that during an international tour in Amsterdam earlier this year, Lizzo pressured the dancers into engaging with nude performers at the city’s red light district.

The dancers describe their former work environment as overtly sexual and hostile, claiming that the singer’s abusive behavior contributed to their emotional distress. Davis and Williams were fired, while Rodriguez chose to resign from Lizzo’s dance team.
