A TikTok user has revealed a clever hack to avoid getting stuck in an airport cab pickup line.
“Here is my secret for airports,” Lindsay Mukaddam shared in a TikTok video posted in July. In the video, Mukaddam can be seen outside an airport terminal.
“If the arrival level is packed with cars, come to the departures level. This way, the person picking you up can easily reach you without having to wait in line,” she explained.
The travel influencer mentioned to Insider that this tactic has a success rate of about 90% for her.
“I’ve mostly encountered difficulties during busy travel periods, such as holiday weekends,” Mukaddam said.
It appears that more people are catching on to this trick. Mukaddam noticed that other travelers are also using this hack at airports.
“I’ve seen other people adopting this tip, and even Uber drivers have asked if they can drop me off at arrivals when the departures level is extremely crowded,” Mukaddam shared.
Mukaddam first discovered this hack while passing through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and praised the airport for its traveler-friendly approach.
“Airports that promote this hack, like Austin airport with signs encouraging travelers to utilize both levels, make the airport experience easier for everyone,” Mukaddam commended.
“No one wants to start or end their vacation frustrated by long lines, so I applaud Austin for encouraging travelers to explore all options to reach the airport,” she added.
