Murrell claims that members of the group punched, kicked, and attacked him with metal shields during a march in Boston last year. Murrell, who has a background in special education, wants to hold the Patriot Front accountable for their actions and prevent similar attacks on children of color. He had never heard of the group before the incident but believes he was targeted based on their tone of voice and the slurs they used.
The Chief Legal Officer at Human Rights First, Licha Nyiendo, who is supporting Murrell in the lawsuit, states that the goal is not only justice and accountability but also to bankrupt the Patriot Front and expose the dangers of their extremist ideology to the nation.
