On Monday, 51-year-old Pinkett Smith shared two selfies on Instagram, showcasing her hair’s progression. The first photo depicted her nearly bald, while the second photo showed her with a pixie cut.

In the caption, Pinkett Smith indicated that the first photo was taken in the past, while the second photo represents her hair growth. She expressed optimism about her hair’s comeback, although she still faces some trouble spots.

In 2018, Pinkett Smith openly discussed her alopecia diagnosis on her show “Red Table Talk,” revealing her initial fear when her hair began to fall out.

Pinkett Smith’s shaved head became a topic of conversation after the 2022 Oscars when her husband, Will Smith, slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about it during an award presentation.

In a later Instagram post, Will Smith apologized for his reaction and explained that jokes about Jada’s medical condition were too much for him to handle emotionally. As a consequence of his actions, he was banned from attending the Oscars for ten years.

While Pinkett Smith didn’t specify the specific methods aiding her hair growth in her recent post, it was previously reported that she received corticosteroid injections as a treatment for her hair loss.

Corticosteroid injections in affected areas of the scalp are a commonly used treatment for alopecia, with the aim of promoting new hair growth. However, this treatment does not prevent future hair loss, and currently, there is no known cure for alopecia.
