  • A Nebraska man, aged 26, has been charged with sex trafficking after posing as a high school student.
  • Despite being an adult, the man managed to blend in with the other students, attending 54 days of class.
  • This case is one of several instances where adults have been caught pretending to be teenagers to attend high school.

A 26-year-old man from Nebraska is now facing charges of sex trafficking after successfully posing as a 17-year-old high school student and attending classes.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, Zachary Scheich, who is only 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds, managed to blend in with the other students, attending classes for a total of 54 days at two local high schools.

The school district had received a tip about an individual named “Zak Hess” who was enrolled in the school. Upon investigation, authorities discovered that Scheich had actually graduated from the same school district in 2015.

During their investigation, the police found evidence of Scheich having interactions with multiple students. This led to the issuance of an arrest warrant. However, no further details about the nature of these interactions were released.

Scheich has been charged with sex trafficking of a minor and two counts of child enticement with an electronic communications device. He is currently being held in jail on a $250,000 bond. It is unclear if he has obtained legal representation.

This incident is not isolated, as there have been other cases of adults posing as teenagers to enroll in high school. For instance, just last month, a 28-year-old woman from Louisiana was arrested for attending a local high school using forged documents. In another case, a 29-year-old woman deceived school administrators by presenting a fake birth certificate to enroll in a New Jersey high school.

In the case of the New Jersey woman, her attorney claimed that she was lonely and longing for the security she felt as a student. However, such behavior remains puzzling and difficult for many people to comprehend.
