Kim Kardashian Denies Allegations of Fake CGI Tear in ‘the Kardashians’

  • Kim Kardashian refuted claims that “The Kardashians” digitally added a tear to her face.
  • In a clip from season two, she wiped at the corners of her eyes but didn’t catch a falling tear.
  • “Isn’t that costly?” she questioned the possibility of digitally inserting a tear.

Kim Kardashian confronted the allegation that “The Kardashians” had manufactured her tear using CGI, stating that it would be costly to do so.

In the latest episode of “The Kardashians” season three, which aired on Hulu, Kim, Khloé, and Scott Disick sat down for a conversation about the absurd rumors surrounding their family while enjoying Mexican food and margaritas. One of the rumors discussed was the claim that Kim’s tear in a particular scene was digitally added after production, as reported by Cosmopolitan in September 2022.

“Who would CGI a tear?” Kim asked after a brief appearance of the Cosmopolitan headline on screen.

“Well, obviously, nobody,” Khloé and Scott replied, mocking the individuals behind such claims. They referred to them as “idiots” with “too much time on their hands.” In a later confessional, Khloé affirmed that no one is using CGI on their show.

The tear in question appeared on Kim’s waterline during the premiere of season two, which centered on Khloé’s second child’s birth via surrogate with Tristan Thompson. In an emotional confessional where Kim expressed her belief in Khloé’s deserving happiness, she wiped at the corners of her eyes but missed a tear that had fallen just below her pupil. TikTok users debated whether the tear had been generated artificially, as reported by Cosmopolitan at the time.

“I found it amusing because in that viral video, you were touching here and here,” Khloé remarked. “But your tear landed perfectly centered or something. You just missed it.”

During another confessional, Kim reiterated that the tear was not a result of CGI manipulation.

“Definitely not a CGI tear. Isn’t that expensive?” she questioned.
