In December 2021, Mr. Levin proposed to Ms. Rodriguez with a heartfelt scrapbook that she had gifted him on their first anniversary. The scrapbook contained cherished photographs and mementos from their initial year together, leaving the rest of the book intentionally empty with a page that carried the words “to be continued.” However, for their third anniversary, Ms. Rodriguez lovingly filled the latter half with photographs from their joint travels, concluding with a thought-provoking question: “Where will we go next?”

For the proposal, Mr. Levin ingeniously attached an engagement ring to the final pages of the scrapbook, finally addressing Ms. Rodriguez’s question from years before: “Anywhere is fine with me, as long as I’m with you.” He presented the scrapbook to her a few days after Christmas during their traditional holiday gift exchange. As Ms. Rodriguez flipped through the pages, relishing their shared memories, she was completely oblivious to what was about to unfold. Once she reached the page adorned with the ring, tears of joy streamed down her cheeks.

On June 10, the couple exchanged vows at Rule of Thirds, an enchanting Japanese restaurant in Brooklyn. The ceremonial proceedings were orchestrated by Jake Levin, Mr. Levin’s cousin, who had been ordained by the Universal Life Church for the auspicious occasion.

In attendance were friends from various junctures in the couple’s lives, along with family members who had traveled from the Dominican Republic to honor Ms. Rodriguez’s side of the family. Each of them shared short anecdotes and stories that reflected the deep bond between the couple.

Sharing his vows, Mr. Levin reminisced, “During our high school days, everything was chaotic — including us. However, after maneuvering through a couple of years, we found a way to make it work. In the past nine years, we have created something truly extraordinary.”
