Jake Cuenca acknowledges the occasional toll action stunts take on his body while filming the TV series “The Iron Heart,” but he remains dedicated to delivering his best performance.

Cuenca shared this insight during a press conference for the show’s second season on June 23. Also present at the event were his co-stars Richard Gutierrez, Dimples Romana, Christian Vasquez, Roi Vinzon, Anthony Jennings, and Louise Abuel.

“I got kicked in the head the other day, but it’s all part of the action,” Cuenca revealed, jokingly refusing to disclose the culprit. “Another actor injured my knee.”

“Pero (but) it’s all part of it. Sabi ko nga (As I have said)… we’re on a mindset when we get to the set,” he continued. “There’s nothing that’s gonna get in our way from taking these scenes.”

Gutierrez then emphasized their gratitude that, since filming began, no serious injuries have occurred among the team during these action-packed scenes.

“All the time, pinag-uusapan namin nina direk at lahat ng mga stunt choreographers, stunt men namin (we, together with the directors, stunt choreographers, and stuntmen, talk about how) safety is a priority,” Gutierrez said. “We will not risk any injuries as much as we can.”

“Thankfully, with the right team and the right mindset, (we only had) minor bruises and scratches,” he added.

During the press conference, it was announced that the second season of “The Iron Heart” will be filmed in Iloilo, and actor JM de Guzman will join the cast.
