Jack Jones, the 25-year-old cornerback for the New England Patriots, was arrested at Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts on multiple gun-related charges, as stated by the police.
Jones, who was planning to travel to Arizona, was apprehended at a Transportation Security Administration security checkpoint with two loaded guns and ammunition in his carry-on luggage, according to Massachusetts State Police. The incident took place around 5:20 p.m.
The TSA notified the police after discovering the firearms and ammunition at the security checkpoint in Terminal B.

Jones, who is in his second year in the NFL, was taken into custody at the State Police Logan Airport Barracks with a bail set at $50,000. His arraignment is scheduled for next week in East Boston District Court.
The New England Patriots released a statement acknowledging the incident. “We are currently gathering more information and will refrain from further comment at this time,” the statement read.

According to the TSA, firearms can only be transported on a commercial aircraft if they are unloaded, securely packed in a locked case, and placed in checked baggage. Ammunition, firearm frames, receivers, clips, and magazines must also be checked and cannot be carried in carry-on luggage.
The TSA noted that Jones’ arrest brought the total number of firearms found in carry-on luggage at Boston’s Logan Airport in 2023 to 10.
