Israeli ambassador calls for humanitarian aid to Gaza: Why urging is unnecessary

The Israeli Ambassador to the U.S., Michael Herzog, emphasizes that Israel is not in need of “urging” when it comes to providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Herzog underlines that Israel is actively increasing the delivery of humanitarian supplies to the southern region of Gaza that is not under the control of Hamas. In an interview on “The Hill on NewsNation,” he reveals that the number of aid trucks entering this area is gradually growing each day.

“We are already providing water, as well as other forms of supplies, and today it’s satisfying to see foreigners leaving Gaza,” Herzog states confidently. “Therefore, we do not require any urging.”

President Biden, during his speech in Minnesota, acknowledges that the efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza have been insufficient. However, he assures that the United States is persistently working to substantially escalate this aid.

In recent weeks, the president has actively advocated for humanitarian support to Palestinian civilians who are enduring a distressing living situation due to communication blackouts, limited access to necessities, and mounting casualties resulting from Israeli attacks.

The White House has expressed its willingness to explore the possibility of supporting a “humanitarian pause” to facilitate aid delivery to Gaza. Nevertheless, it has refrained from calling for a full cease-fire.

“While the number of trucks entering Gaza is progressively increasing, we still have a considerable way to go. The United States will continue to prioritize driving humanitarian assistance for the innocent people in Gaza who require assistance,” pledges President Biden.
