Aug. 9 (UPI) — Paramount+ is set to make waves with its latest offering, Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Yesterday, the streaming service unveiled a sneak peek of the much-anticipated anthology series along with a collection of exclusive photos.
Created by Chad Feehan and executive produced by the talented Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of the hit show Yellowstone, Lawmen: Bass Reeves is a product of the collaboration between MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, and Yoruba Saxon.
The star-studded cast features acclaimed actor David Oyelowo in the lead role, alongside the talented Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland, and Dennis Quaid.
In each season of Lawmen, viewers will be transported to the wild frontier of the Old West as they explore the captivating stories of legendary lawmen and outlaws. The highly-anticipated debut season centers around Bass Reeves (Oyelowo), an extraordinary frontier hero who served as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory during the post-Reconstruction era. Reeves’ heroic accomplishments include capturing over 3,000 dangerous criminals without sustaining a single injury.
The series will also showcase guest appearances by the talented Shea Whigham and Garrett Hedlund, while Joaquina Kalukango, Lonnie Chavis, Grantham Coleman, Tosin Morohunfola, Dale Dickey, Rob Morgan, Ryan O’Nan, Margot Bingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Justin Hurtt-Dunkley, and Bill Dawes will have recurring roles.
