“Masters of the Air” marks a reunion of the renowned trio behind the acclaimed series “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific” — Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.

This highly anticipated show is based on the gripping book by Donald L. Miller, which recounts the heroic story of an American bomber group during the Second World War.

The star-studded cast includes Austin Butler (“Elvis”), Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Rafferty Law, Barry Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook, and Ncuti Gatwa.

In a press release, Goetzman expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to bring this significant story to life, saying, “‘Masters of the Air’ pays tribute to the courageous men of the 8th Air Force who, through their bravery and unity, played a vital role in defeating Nazi Germany during World War II. Tom and Steven have long desired to visually portray what our author Don Miller refers to as this ‘defining moment in the history of warfare.’ We are thrilled to have Apple TV+ support us in showcasing the talents of the incredible individuals both on-screen and behind the scenes who have come together to tell this compelling narrative.”

“Masters of the Air” follows the harrowing experiences of the 100th Bomb Group, known as the “Bloody Hundredth,” as they undertake treacherous bombing missions over Nazi Germany, battling freezing conditions, oxygen shortages, and the constant terror of combat at 25,000 feet in the air.

The series is brought to life through the masterful writing of John Orloff, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Spielberg, Hanks, and Goetzman.

Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated premiere of “Masters of the Air,” which will kick off with a thrilling two-episode debut on Jan. 26, 2024, exclusively on Apple TV+.
