Introducing Nukeproof Electric Bikes with SRAM Eagle Powertrain for Thrilling Enduro Rides

Last week, SRAM made an exciting announcement about their new ebike system featuring a Brose motor and auto shifting technology. Now, Nukeproof has joined the party and launched their first models, the Megawatt Carbon RS and Pro, which incorporate the Eagle Powertrain.

Instead of starting from scratch, SRAM decided to collaborate with Brose, resulting in a powerful motor offering 680 watts of peak power and 90 Nm of torque. The system comes with a choice of either a 630-Wh or 720-Wh battery, as well as a 250-Wh range extender. However, the real standout features are Auto Shift and Coast Shift.

With the help of onboard sensors, the system’s software analyzes data and selects the appropriate gear based on wheel cadence and rider input power at the pedals. It can change gears even when the rider isn’t pedaling, using the motor to independently turn the chain and the speed sensor to select the right gear. The Eagle Powertrain also allows wireless control of other components in the AXS ecosystem using handlebar-mounted Pod Controllers.

Nukeproof, alongside Propain, GasGas, and Transition, is among the first bike manufacturers to adopt this innovative system. Their Megawatt Carbon enduro ebikes are packed with features, including full RockShox suspension and Continental tires that are 2.4 inches wide. Nukeproof is incredibly proud of this collaboration, as it combines the latest eMTB technology with a carbon frame that’s ready to tackle any trail or race track.

Both models, the RS and Pro, feature a custom UD carbon-fiber monocoque frame available in five sizes. They come equipped with a 250-W mid-drive motor offering two power modes: Range provides 30% assistance up to 500 watts, while Rally boosts assistance up to 85% at a maximum of 680 watts. The SRAM AXS mobile app allows for customization of these power settings. A 720-Wh battery is conveniently placed low inside the downtube, with the battery cover doubling as storage for tools. Ride data is displayed on the AXS Bridge Display on the top tube.

The RS model retails for $10,899 and weighs 24.3 kg. It features a carbon handlebar, an enduro saddle on a RockShox Reverb AXS dropper post, a 12-speed SRAM X0 AXS derailleur, and a RockShox Zeb Ultimate suspension fork with 170 mm of travel and a RockShox Vivid Ultimate shock. The bike rolls on a 29-inch Horizon Pro wheel in the front and a 27.5-inch wheel in the back, both equipped with Continental Kryptotal Downhill Super-Soft tires. SRAM Code RSC brakes provide reliable stopping power.

The Pro variant is priced at $9,899 and weighs 24 kg. It features a Rockshox Zeb Select+ fork, a Vivid Select+ shock, a Horizon V2 wheelset, and SRAM G2 RE brakes.

Both models, equipped with the SRAM Eagle Powertrain, can now be ordered through select retailers. For more information, check out the video below: [Insert video]
