Incredible Photos Revealing Microscopic Insects Thriving in Rain

Boy, this rain is really bothering me. These amazing pictures showcase how microscopic insects handle a downpour. Captured by Ondrej Pakan from Myjava, Slovakia, these images reveal a fascinating side to the secret lives of insects. In fact, they almost look like extraterrestrials rather than insects.
Pakan used a special lens to capture these stunning photographs of the insects after a rainfall. The tiny droplets of water dramatically transform their appearance, making them look much larger once covered in liquid. For example, one photo shows an ant struggling under the weight of water droplets on its body, while another depicts a wasp about to take flight, completely drenched in water. In another photo, a bug with blue eyes stares straight into the camera, its body covered in dots of water.
Pakan is an expert in photographing microscopic insects just moments after a rainstorm. However, he also has to brave the rain himself. He stated, “I get soaked waiting for the rain to stop, but it’s all worth it when I capture these incredible shots of insects with water droplets on them. It can be challenging to keep my equipment dry in some of the more exotic locations.”
Pakan used his trusty Canon 40D camera along with a special lens to capture these breathtaking shots. The photos showcase the intricate details of the insects, which are usually invisible to the naked eye. The vibrant colors of the insects are magnified by the water droplets, creating a visually stunning composition.
Overall, these photos demonstrate the resilience and beauty of insects, even in the face of a downpour.
