I will focus on healing myself first.

Miss Tourism Philippines Herlene Budol, also known as the comedian-beauty queen, recently made headlines when she announced that she would no longer be participating in beauty pageants. However, in a recent interview with TV hosts Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez, Budol revealed that she is not completely done with pageantry. Instead, she is taking a break to focus on improving her skills.

During the interview, Enriquez asked Budol if she was firm in her decision to say goodbye to pageantry. Budol initially responded with an “oo ata” (which means “maybe” in Filipino), but later changed her answer to “maybe.” This led Atienza to question Budol’s previous declaration of goodbye on YouTube, to which Budol clarified that she made that statement because she didn’t think she would have the opportunity to represent the Philippines in an international pageant. She didn’t reveal which international pageant she would be competing in.

Budol explained that she would first wait for the chance to represent the Philippines in a global competition before completely signing off from pageantry. She then plans to take a rest, focus on her current skills, and work on improving herself. She emphasized that she wants to become smarter and will also pray for guidance along the way.

Budol recently won the title of Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 but will not be able to represent the country in the Miss Tourism World pageant due to franchise licensing issues, as stated by Hiyas ng Pilipinas chairman Mike Sordilla. However, there seems to be confusion regarding which international pageant Budol will compete in, as Sordilla mentioned that Miss Grand Philippines didn’t specify it as Miss Tourism World.

In a previous vlog, Budol announced her goodbye to pageantry, citing her realization that she may not be capable of representing the country in international competitions. Despite this, her recent interview suggests that she is not completely closing the door on pageants.

Overall, Budol’s decision to take a break from pageantry in order to improve her skills shows her dedication to personal growth and development in the beauty industry.
