The Heart of Rock and Roll, a brand new musical showcasing the popular songs of Huey Lewis and The News from the 1980s, is set to hit Broadway this spring. Previews will begin at The James Earl Jones Theatre on Friday, March 29, 2024, followed by the opening night on Monday, April 22.
Producers Hunter Arnold, Tyler Mitchell, and Kayla Greenspan have officially announced the opening date.

Described as a “raucous rom-com,” The Heart of Rock and Roll will include iconic tracks such as the title song, “The Power of Love,” “Workin’ For A Livin’,” “Stuck With You,” and “If This Is It.”
The official synopsis of The Heart of Rock and Roll states that it “centers on a couple of thirty-somethings who know exactly what they want from life – until they find each other. It’s going to take ‘The Power of Love’ — and a little help from their friends — to show them the way.”
The production, helmed by director Gordon Greenberg, features a book by Jonathan A. Abrams and a story by Tyler Mitchell and Abrams. Music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are handled by Brian Usifer, with choreography by Lorin Latarro.
