Hotel Corazon Invites You to Experience an Unforgettable Hot Girl Summer

The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is a magnificent natural wonder that stretches along the northwestern coast of Majorca, Spain. Its awe-inspiring peaks, valleys, and landscapes are adorned with ancient olive groves, lemon orchards, and charming hilltop villages. The rugged cliffs are adorned with winding pathways that lead to the Mediterranean Sea, passing through lush pine trees and gentle goat herds.

Nine years ago, the renowned British fashion photographer Kate Bellm decided to make these mountains her home. Constructing a house between the towns of Deia and Soller, she would commute to photoshoots for prestigious clients like Gucci and esteemed magazines like British Vogue. In 2020, Kate and her husband, the talented Mexican artist Edgar Lopez Arellano, embarked on a new venture by embracing hospitality.

Hotel Corazon recently opened its doors to the world after two years of dedicated work from Kate and Edgar, alongside the brilliant team at Moredesign, a local architecture firm well-known for their appearances in Architectural Digest and similar publications.

“We were immersed in a cloud of dust for endless months,” reminisces Kate Bellm, now 35 years old, while she walks through a spacious room boasting a central fireplace perfect for cozy gatherings and rejuvenating sound baths. The hotel exudes the essence of organic architecture, a movement popularized in the 1970s that emphasizes the harmonious balance between natural elements and synthetic designs.

Each room in Hotel Corazon is uniquely designed yet shares enchanting curved pigmented lime walls in gentle hues of pink, sage, and ocher. The custom-made furniture, created by local artisans, adds a touch of authenticity to the rooms alongside shaggy carpets and windows that overlook gardens overflowing with palm and jacaranda trees, honeysuckle, and cactuses. Edgar Arellano, who has mastered the art of constructing zero-water cactus gardens, has been busy potting various cactus varieties on the nearby restaurant terrace.

“When I first set foot here, I knew immediately what we needed to create and the potential this place held,” explains Kate Bellm, dressed in stonewashed denim flares with braids adorning her flowing locks. “I wanted to fill the void on this island with a supercool hotel that feels like the private residence of a close friend. A place where rules do not exist and wellness takes center stage. A place that resonates with my people—fashion enthusiasts.”

Earlier this month, the renowned supermodel Anja Rubik, who owns a house in Majorca, booked Hotel Corazon to celebrate her milestone 40th birthday. Alexandre de Betak, a renowned producer of runway shows, and Mario Sorrenti, a distinguished fashion photographer, also own holiday homes in close proximity to the hotel.

“But isn’t Ibiza the go-to spot for the fashion ‘it’ crowd during summer?” someone inquires, to which Kate Bellm wrinkles her nose and responds, “I feel like the trendsetters come here. Don’t get me wrong, Ibiza is great for a quick visit, but it’s a different scene altogether. Majorca is unpretentious, a place where you can happily lounge in your pajamas all day. And particularly at Corazon, it’s a hotel for those who want to kick off their shoes, savor nature’s bounty, indulge in midnight swims in the sea, and find solace among the enchanting pine forests.”

Guests at Hotel Corazon will receive concierge services through WhatsApp, offering insider tips on hidden swimming coves, caves to explore during summer, as well as breathtaking hiking trails leading to waterfalls and meadows teeming with wild mountain flowers during the cooler seasons. Adventure awaits at the hotel, with homemade date shakes and revitalizing matcha smoothies fueling guests, while yoga, sound healing, massages, and Reiki sessions restore their vitality.

The menu at Hotel Corazon is carefully crafted to be local, seasonal, medicinal, and mouthwatering. Most of the ingredients are sourced from the hotel’s newly established organic farm, featuring 50 garden beds. To promote artistic expression, the hotel has also initiated an artist residency program where painters, sculptors, and ceramists handpicked by Kate Bellm can stay and create works of art. The culmination of their residency is an exhibition held in Corazon’s gallery.

“I find great joy in collaborating with artists and observing their creative process. It provides me with inspiration to approach things differently in my own realm,” shares Kate Bellm, whose prominent client at the moment is Zara. She further explains her eagerness to shoot more assignments at the hotel and on the island, while also connecting visiting artists with Majorca’s vibrant creative community, who can assist with camera repairs or pottery firing. “I want people to thrive in this place, just like I have.”

While Kate Bellm built her professional reputation on showcasing super-sexy rock ‘n’ roll aesthetics, she now draws inspiration from the fierce, unconventional mothers of Majorca. These women, living near Kate, fearlessly carry their babies into the rocky shores, swimming naked with starfish in their hands. They radiate an indomitable spirit. Kate’s own son, Sage, was born on the island.

It comes as no surprise that one of Kate Bellm’s favorite pastimes at the hotel is gardening topless with her neighbors.

“We should definitely organize a sound bath session down here. It truly transports you to another realm,” she excitedly suggests while strolling through the farm, biting into a perfectly ripened peach. “The more I think about it, the more I want to immerse myself in the presence of the vegetables and let them experience the gong as well.”

Hotel Corazon embodies more than just a chic getaway; it’s a sanctuary where guests can embrace Mother Nature, indulge in wellness, and uncover their creative energies.
