Israel war 2023
A Hamas official has vowed to repetitively carry out terror attacks on Israel in the future until the country is completely annihilated, emphasizing that Israel has no legitimacy on their land.
Ghazi Hamad, a member of the militant group’s political bureau, stated that Gaza leadership plans to replicate the coordinated Oct. 7 attack, also known as Operation al-Aqsa Flood, which resulted in the death of over 1,400 Israelis and the abduction of around 240 hostages.
“The al-Aqsa Flood is just the beginning, and it will be followed by a second, third, fourth, because we possess the determination, resolve, and capabilities to fight,” Hamad declared in an Oct. 24 interview with Lebanese television, later republished by British media outlets.
Hamad asserted that Hamas is prepared to face the consequences of their actions, stating, “We are called a nation of martyrs, and we take pride in sacrificing martyrs. Israel has no place on our land. We must eliminate that country because it represents a security, military, and political catastrophe for the Arab and Islamic nations.”
“We are not ashamed to make this claim with full force. We must teach Israel a lesson, and we will do this repeatedly,” Hamad emphasized.
Hamad justified Hamas’ attack on Israel, which was established in 1948 and subsequently initiated the Israeli-Arab war and forced Palestinian refugees to flee their homes.
The Gaza Strip, a narrow territory inhabited by approximately 2.3 million people, has been under Israeli and Egyptian blockade for security reasons since Hamas came into power.
Hamas is internationally recognized as a terrorist organization due to its history of suicide bombings and rocket attacks.
“The existence of Israel is the cause of pain, bloodshed, and tears,” Hamad said, describing the creation of the Jewish state as “illogical.”
“It is Israel’s fault, not ours. We are the victims of occupation. Therefore, nobody should blame us for our actions. Whether it’s on October 7, October 10, or a million Octobers, everything we do is justified,” he added.
These remarks were made before Israel launched a ground incursion with the objective of eradicating Hamas, which has governed the Gaza Strip since ousting the Palestinian Authority in 2007.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported that nearly 8,800 Palestinians, including 3,648 children, have been killed by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the war. However, the US has accused Hamas of exaggerating the death toll.
