Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea Winger, Takes a Swipe at Al-Nassr on Social Media Following the Collapse of His £8m Transfer

Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the collapsed transfer to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. The move was called off after his medical examination revealed a knee issue, disappointing Ziyech who was looking forward to joining Cristiano Ronaldo at the Middle Eastern club. Ziyech returned to Cobham for pre-season training with Chelsea following the failed transfer. In a sarcastic post on Instagram, Ziyech shared a picture of himself after a training session with the caption, “Knee problems, right?” alongside two laughing face emojis.

This setback with Al-Nassr marks Ziyech’s second failed transfer from Stamford Bridge, with a potential loan move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsing earlier in the year due to incomplete paperwork. Despite PSG’s efforts to rectify the situation, the transfer was not ratified by the French football authorities. Christophe Galtier, the soon-to-be-sacked coach of PSG, expressed disappointment over the collapse of the deal, noting that they had worked hard to replace Pablo Sarabia.

Ziyech, who was signed by Chelsea for £33 million from Ajax in 2020, struggled for consistent playing time last season. With two years remaining on his contract, Chelsea will now explore alternative destinations for the winger before the transfer window closes. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on offloading several players, which could include Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz, and N’Golo Kante.
