Graham Potter Declines Offer to Manage French Club Lyon

Lyon was once the dominant team in France, winning the Ligue 1 title for seven consecutive seasons from 2002 to 2008. The club has had a tough start to their Ligue 1 season, earning only one point in four games and sitting at the bottom of the table. Their poor performance has led to criticism from fans, with players being given a dressing down by the club’s ultras after their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Potter’s previous managerial experience includes a successful stint at Brighton, where he led the team to their first top-half finish in the Premier League in 2022 since their promotion in 2017. At Chelsea, however, he struggled with the team’s bloated squad and had 11 defeats in 31 games.
