Gas prices continue to escalate for the 11th consecutive day in LA County

The price of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County has continued to rise for the 11th consecutive day, reaching its highest level since November 27th. The average price increased by eight-tenths of a cent to $5.13. Over the past 13 days, the average price has gone up by 15.2 cents, including a 1.2 cent increase on Wednesday. This upward trend follows a period of five days with gradual decreases totaling 2.2 cents.

Compared to last week, the current average price is 10.1 cents higher, and compared to last month, it is 21.4 cents higher. However, it remains 42.9 cents lower than it was one year ago. Notably, the price has dropped by $1.364 since reaching a record-breaking $6.494 on October 5th.

In Orange County, the average price of gasoline rose by nine-tenths of a cent to $5.067, following a 1.3 cent increase the previous day. This marks the highest price seen since November 23rd. Similar to Los Angeles County, the current average price is 11.2 cents higher compared to last week and 21.9 cents higher compared to last month. However, it remains 43 cents lower than it was one year ago. Notably, the price has dropped by $1.392 since reaching a record-breaking $6.459 on October 5th.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline has increased for the 16th consecutive day, reaching $3.821 with a 1.8 cent rise. Over the past 16 days, the average price has gone up by 25.8 cents, including a 2.3 cent increase on Wednesday. Compared to last week, the current average price is 10.7 cents higher, and compared to last month, it is 28.6 cents higher. However, it remains 34.2 cents lower than it was one year ago.

Since its record-breaking peak at $5.016 on June 14, 2022, the national average price of gasoline has dropped by $1.195.
