Four individuals apprehended for their involvement in shoe store robbery in Westlake District

Four individuals, consisting of two men and two girls, have been apprehended for allegedly stealing merchandise worth approximately $5,000 from the Warehouse Shoe Sale store in the Westlake district. The incident occurred on Friday, prompting a response from the Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Division after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 1600 block of West Seventh Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, detectives interviewed store employees who provided a description of the suspects and confirmed that a robbery had taken place. The suspects, comprising two men and two girls, have an unclear relationship with each other.

According to the authorities, the group took merchandise from the store shelves and placed it in bags before leaving the premises. However, they were intercepted by store security, and one of the female suspects threatened to use pepper spray against the guard if they were stopped.

After leaving the store, the suspects were discovered hiding in a laundry room near Eighth Street and Union Avenue, just one block away. Law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended them without any further trouble. Two of the suspects, Demaree Anderson and George Thomas, were charged with robbery and had their bails set at $50,000. Due to their ages, the names of the arrested girls were not disclosed.

The stolen merchandise has been successfully recovered and returned to the store. The Los Angeles Police Department Organized Retail Theft Task Force and Rampart Division detectives are currently investigating the incident.
