Former Chelsea and Liverpool forward Fernando Torees is reportedly taking legal action against the Spanish government for damages suffered by his gym chain due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Spaniard, who now works as a coach at Atletico Madrid, retired in 2019 after a spell in Japan.

Since retiring, Torres has made several investments and owns a chain of gyms called ‘New Fitness’.

According to Spanish news outlet El Confidencial, as reported by Football Espana, his chain of gyms had generated £86,000 in profit prior to the pandemic, but suffered losses when safety measures were implemented by the Spanish government and Madrid Council.
