On the day of their annual fishing excursion, Addie had his camera ready, hoping to capture a photo of the magnificent marine creatures. However, the whales were elusive, disappearing whenever he tried to take a picture. Undeterred, Addie left his camera on, hoping for a lucky break.
Suddenly, the perfect moment arrived. Addie successfully captured a video of three adult whales breaching together, followed by a young whale joining in on the spectacle. The excitement was palpable as Addie’s daughters marveled at the sight. The graceful display of the adult whales left Addie awestruck, considering it a truly special moment during his birthday celebration.
Although Addie has encountered countless whales throughout his fishing experiences, he had never witnessed anything as extraordinary as this. The synchronized breaching of the three whales was a rare and remarkable occurrence that left everyone wondering about the reason behind it.
Addie, who grew up fishing tuna and swordfish in Gloucester, Massachusetts, as well as in Alaska, expressed his amazement at the sighting. His youngest daughter, Neve, holds a bachelor’s degree in marine management, and they are all intrigued by the whales’ simultaneous breaching behavior.
The depth at which the whales made their full breach indicated that the location must have been quite deep, although Addie did not have the exact measurements. He considered the presence of the three whales as a symbol of joy, representing the reunion of him and his three daughters following his meaningful trip to Ukraine.
